Pakistan levels the series against England by winning the fourth and final test match by 10 wickets. Younis khan and Yasir Shah performed brilliantly for Pakistan. Younis scored double century while Yasir Shah took 5 wickets yet again to place Pakistan in a winning position on the fourth day of the fourth and final test match against England. It’s an Independence Day of Pakistan today and the team gave nation a great gift for the 69th Independence Day by winning against England.
Misbah ul Haq stated before the start of the test match that this match is of great importance for him and for his career. Remember Misbah is the most successful captain in the history for Pakistan. Perhaps he wanted to be unbeaten in series against England in England. It was Misbah ul Haq first ever test match series in England not as a captain but also as a player.
England won the toss and elected to bat first on the first morning. It was not a good decision by Cook as the wickets had a pinch of grass on it. Pakistani bowlers took advantage of the conditions and bowled out England on the first day for 328 runs. Moeen Ali played very well for England and scored a century. He scored 108 runs of 152 balls. He scored 13 fours and 2 sixes. At one stage England were 5 for 110. At that stage Moeen Ali and Bairstow took position for England and scored a 90 odd runs partnership.
For Pakistan Sohail Khan took 5 for 68 in 20.4 overs. Wahab took 3 for 93 and Mohammad Amir took 2 for 90. Pakistan started the innings with Sami Aslam dismissed for just 3 runs on the board on the evening of the first day.
On second morning Pakistan played brilliantly and scored with full of confidence. It seems that they came to the ground with the purpose. And the purpose was to took a huge lead in the first innings and put England under pressure. Asad Shafiq and Younis Khan scored centuries for Pakistan. Asad got out at the score of 109 runs. He faced 179 balls and scored 12 fours and 2 sixes in his fantastic knock. Younis Khan remained not out at a score of 101 at the close of play on the second day. It was Younis Khan 32 century in International test matches.
Pakistan scored 340 for 6 wickets and were at a strong position at the close of play on second day. On third morning Pakistan started the innings with Younis and Sarfraz at the crease. Younis Khan took the responsibility and put Pakistan on a stronger position. He scored his 6th double century in International cricket for Pakistan. Pakistan got out at a score of 542 runs. Younis Khan scored 218 runs on 308 balls. He scored 31 fours and 4 sixes in his great innings.
It was perhaps the most important innings in younis career. Younis failed to score in first three test matches and was under great pressure at the start of the match. This innings of Younis Khan shows his mental toughness and his character.
For England Woakes and Finn took 3 wickets each. Woales become the highest wicket taker in the series. England came to bat after tea on third day of the test match. England once again lose quick wickets and at the end of play England were 4 down for 88 runs on the board.
Pakistani bowler bowled on good line and length on fourth morning and got England out on 253 runs. Yasir Shah once again took 5 wickets in the innings for 71 runs in 29 overs to help Pakistan levels the series against England. This give Pakistan a small target of 39 runs to win. Pakistan scored the runs without any loss and levels the series 2-2. Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali remained not out. Younis Khan was named man of the match.
It was Pakistan’s first ever series after the match fixing scandal in England. And Pakistan managed to draw it thanks to some wonderful bowling performance by Yasir Shah, Mohammad Amir and Sohail Khan. In batting Younis, Misbah, Asad and Azhar scored centuries for Pakistan. Misbah ul Haq was named man of the series for Pakistan while Chris Woakes was named man of the series for England.
Today Match Predictions
Before the start of the match both England and Pakistan have equal chances of winning i.e. 40% each. While there were only 10% chances of match ending in a draw. Pakistan played superbly and won the match comfortably.
